Directed by: Jon Turteltaub
Starring Cast: Nicholas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina. Teresa Paulmer

Synopsis:

Walt Disney present The Sorcerer’s Apprentice which about a sorcerer and his apprentice who involved in the midst of conflict between the good and evil.Balthazar Blake (NICOLAS CAGE) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to fight against and protect the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (ALFRED MOLINA). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (JAY BARUCHEL), a clumsy guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his protege, by force.

The sorcerer gives his new apprentice a crash course in the art and science of magic. Well, a lot of interesting mishaps during lessons too. However, these partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE.

I say:

I watched this some time ago and I find it lacks the BOOM factor. The whole story is kinda of a cliche for me too. Jay just being himself and it’s very predictable especially if you all watched “How to Train You Dragon”. There is no change of character where I think it should be more variety in the acting skills. He can’t be too much of himself and there is no difference between his previous work to this one.

Luckily Nicholas Cage and Monica Bellucci brought up the movie to a higher level, I would say. 2 veterans that lift up the whole movie to more quality performance. They also made a perfect hot couple on scene too.

The action scenes in the ending part of the movie not so impressive as it doesn’t brings the audience to the peak. Scenes are too short and left us with no satisfaction. Sounds weird, it’s like an orgasm tak jadi!!

Verdict:
Anyway, the verdict I’m gonna give is 4/10.

Better one next time, perhaps?

Well, see for yourself from the trailer
